if you have made up your mind on the claws, then grab em. They are a good tire, but wont last as long as MTR's BFG MTs STTs.

There is a thread in General Tech on the Claws and klms, have a search.. some say they last, others were crying.

The Claws are good, A little noisy at times but that comes with aggressive patterns. Great wet road performance compared with BFG MT & MTR's on the ute anyway & found them to be wearing well. I am expecting around 50-60,000 klms before they are R.S. Everyone will have their own opinions but it is pretty much up to you what you want, but knowing the terrain around Taree The Claws will be fine. :D

have you thought about Mongrels? Are they available up your way?

Better tyre(tread wise) than both you've mentioned for a fraction of the cost (as low as $80/tyre in Melb)

Noisey on road but will rip through anything off road and good self-cleaning ability

Mate of mine purchased the silverstone 33 radials (not the 36 rag tractor tyres) 3-4 years agofor his middi .... He cannot believe that they are still over 50% left and have been absolutely brilliant. Give them a try. I think they are around $250 each and are brilliant.

Avoid the mpngrel retreads ... mate of mine is a tyre retailer and he has stopped fitting them because they have all failed .. without exception was his words :?:

Me mate's been running Mongrels for some time now on his Mav, has not had a problem with 'em on or off road. If they made 'em in 35's i'd be wearing them on mine too!

Second set of rims, mongrels limited road use. But long enough and enough km's now to know if they were shite

He's also got the highway tread monoforms, after umpteen million kays the retread started to peel up a poofteenth on the inner sidewall. They replaced it with a brand newy, no questions asked. What other tyre manufacturer offers a warrenty like that?

Sorry, i was mistaken on price of 33" Mongrels. $179 in Dandenong, still not bad compared to most others, and a lifetime warranty on the retread.

I ran 35" Claw RAdial on my GU for a while then down sized to 33's (due to QLD Rd Laws) I have not had an issue with either size, found them more than capable on road and pretty reliable off road. I used to run on 33" Wrangler MTRs and i would take the claws anyday. As for noise on road, wount think they make anymore noise than other MTRs
