Having some trouble getting my winch working. There is an earth on the bottom of the motor and F1, F2 and A on the top. And "A" is earthed out I think this is the problem... if it is the problem and shouldn't be earthed out like i think, what could be earthing it out?
I had this working fine just the other day but after replacing a couple of the ends on the wires it's playing funny buggers
The winch is a warn 8000 low mount.
Mark.

warn winch- terminal "A" is earthed?
Moderator: -Scott-
The A terminal connects to the brushes then through the armiture windings and back out the brushes to earth, so the resistance reading would be low.
If it is a dead short to earth I would check the insulators around the stud, or sometimes if the stud has been loose and turned the lead inside from the stud may have touched the housing and shorted. This is quite likley as you mentioned you recently replaced the cable ends.
Hope this helps
cheers Scott
