i asked this before, but got no answer. tried google, just got pages & pages of crap.
can anyone tell me if td42's have oil skirt cooling. curious to know if theres any ACTUAL difference between factory turbo and factory non turbo motors. my gut feeling is the factory turbo motor may have a few little fancy bits the non turbo doesnt have.
this may have an impact on a future purchase, will be looking for 4.2 GU in the future, at this stage leaning towards a factory turbo.

Yes non turbo td42 have got piston cooling. But it would be a good idea to check if there all in place, if your going to turbo it. I have scene two engine were the little squirters have come out of there place. Luckly I found this problem before pumping 20pounds into her. As danel said the little ends are bigger. Not sure about the oil pump.
