Hmmmmmmm......interesting......but I thinks they farcked up....no such animal as a 2L Feroza engine !!!

and the car looks pretty stock-as-a-rock no visible signs of mods been done !!

It would want to have a two litre engine with a starting price of $10500! :lol:

Reminds me of a girl here at work who was advertising a Hyundai Excel (early '90s) for sale with a 1.6l engine -pity they only came out with a 1.5!
Funniest part is it sold very quickly, wonder if the buyer realised.... :lol:

There's lots of interesting bits in there, was looking through it today and the Aussie Ferozas run 2 degrees less total advance than the USA version- yet mine still detonates on 98 octane.... :?:

The EFI computer would be the same I'm guessing, as it's got nothing to do with controlling the timing..... It's most likely only the distributor that's different- and all that would be is the springs that control the centrifical (spelling?? :oops: ) advance. Maybe the springs lose their tension over time and require replacing? :idea: I know if you strip the distributor it says to always use new springs- it would be good to get hold of a second distributor to experiment with.

The HD-C (carby engine) has another different timing curve again!

David, I was thinking more of the mixture control. It could be the Aussie control module running a leaner fuel mix causing the detonition problem.

Will have to have a look in the manual, but I suspect they're running the same program.

Yanks fuel quality is better than ours too- they have even higher octane fuel than our 98RON from what I've been told.

Leon, have a look in the "Emissions Control" section of the service manual- the Yanks Rocky's HD-E engines are way different to our Ferozas.

According to that they've got EGR valves, plus a whole lot of other stuff. Pages EC-14 and EC-15 in particular would appear to indicate the EFI computer / wiring / emissions plumbing are very different.
