carrier swap??

Post by jeep97tj »

Gday I have a lux diff center, i think it is the V6 type with all the ribs on it that has a stuffed ez-locker in it. I brought the diff from a member here and am going to try and get my money back, but in the mean time i have a 82 petrol lux that i have for spares can i get the carrier out of that, weld it, swap ring gears over and run it till i sort this little problem out??

Is it that easy? will the carrier and axle splines be the same? I have the tools to set the teeth up again.

I was thinking about just welding the stuffed locker, but i dont know if u can plus the old owner may want to look at it, or he could just refuse to do any thing all together, who knows

Thanks A heap Shane

What ratio is it :?

The carrier should be swapable but you might need to change the side bearings
