Post by wrksux »

im knew to the whole fourby scene and looking to buy my first car which is gonna be a GQ patrol most likely. dont have neough coin for a diesel so a tb42 on lpg is going to be the go for a while.

ive looked at this one does it sound like a good deal to you guys?

1988 patrol GQ dx 5spd
215km on the clock
rear locker, bullbar, t-bar, dual fuel long range tanks, dual batt's.

7grand, full regular service history and a few other small mods/acc's

cheers

sounds good.

lockers arnt cheap, so thats a bonus.

and DX's are way better as you can just hose it out when it's muddy.

Sounds like a good price with the accessories already fitted; locker,b/bar,dual batt,LPG

Is it 3L or 4.2L?

It should be in good nic too as there are loads of 4.2L wagons around and with petrol prices soaring the prices of large 4B's are dropping big time. Bargain a little more, i reckon you'll get it even cheaper (don't appear too keen, walk away from it if won't budge and leave your ph #, he'll ring you)

I wouldn't necessarily want a DX myself but the price is okay. I would want an ARB locker not an auto locker as well, the auto locker is arguably less valuable than a nissan LSD.

As GQ Bear says, low offers are a smart move with a big fourby these days. Offer $5500, you might be surprised at the response.

the locker would more than likely be a factory locker or did they not come out in DX?

mine has a factory locker, i think mines an ST though.

DX is the poverty model.

most came with Drum brakes on the rear,

I would guess its a added one, like ARB airlocker or at worst a auto locker

I heard that DXes came with drum rears, but in all my shopping around on a few occasions I never saw a GQ that had them. I'd definitely avoid them, but I am not sure they are all that common.
