AUSSIE DISPOSALS WALHALLA NAVRUN 20/21st May

Post by NavRun »

The first Navrun for this year at the Otways Navrun was a full house. The Walhalla/Erica Navrun is heading towards that way as well, so if anyone is contemplating in entering please hurry, we are always welcoming and wanting new competitors.

Checked out the area, not bad at all. The area we were supposed to have it got totally burnt (Moondarra Bushfires ) but not all!!!!!!!!!! Tracks are awesome. Again this is an area totally new to us and it would be for many others also.

Will be having Auspit there demostrating their spits, and yes you can queue up and taste the results of their different meats and vegies on spit. Officials first but.

Aussie Disposals are also naming sponsors for this event and they have a fantastic range of prizes as well with many other prizes from our good sponsors.

go to the Navrun website for more details

www.navrun.com.au or ring Navrun on 03 9789 6985

Regards, Rudi

Cool, always just drive through Erica on the hard top. Never done the tracks around there but heard good things. Someone said the river crossings are awesome downstream of the dam. What about Noojee Powelltown are you getting into there?

Oi, Rudi was suposed to think I was setting up on Sunday .. thanks. And how come you spotted me when I was in a commodore - like Melbourne's got a lot of dunny dores and you had to see mine...

Any way I did go out today (Anzac Day) - took Comanda and the 3 jiblets. Great day.

Camp is at Seninis Camping Ground (approx 442000 / 5791200) on Seninis Tk about 5k this side of Erica and about 20k out from Moe on the Walhalla Rd. There are very good toilets and the Tyres River is flowing well with fresh water. Caravans and cars can get to camp with ease.

Leave Moe with a full tank and you may find that's enough. I did Frankston and return on a std 60 series tank. If you need fuel it is just 20 mins down the road (24 hours with LPG).

Saw pigs again.... and deer and a goanna that might as well have been a croc.

Track standard is tame if dry - slippery but not dangerous if wet. In fact if we have rain on the weekend you are in for some diversions. I will spend about another 3 hours setting up this coming w'end (on the way to setting up Pursuit) and then she's all ready to go - fear not - no pink ribbons...

There's a washed out river crossing - comp rigs will do it with some winching. The rest will have to drive around the long way. But driving around might be quicker .. but that's what Navruns are about - making choices.

Rudes reports we are about 75% full so get your entry in NOW - you can pay on the weekend and we take credit card.

No lockers or winches needed, just good all terrain tyres or better.

Whoo hoo! Under a month to go!
Im looking forward to this as its my first time!
The lux died not long ago, its going in this week to get looked at/fixed and it will be ready to play.
Hopefully it will not cost too much to fix though :?
Something at the back end is making bad noises.
Pulled it apart and the axles and bearings are fine, diff is fine (well im 95% sure it is?!) could either be tailshaft or rear main shaft stuffed... but what the hell, its only money!
I wanna play! :D

While finishing the Walhalla Navrun on Saturday, Hobzee found an area for our November Navnite. When I mean steep, its steep. The computer firemaps we were using stated "steep- downhill only". I have never ever come across this on a government map before- and they mean what they say.

There is a whole series of tracks to cater for the navnite here and it is only 20 minutes from Moe.

Sorry, these tracks will not be used for the Walhalla Navrun.

Wrong side of the river.

I am talking around the Western Tyers area.

It is now confirmed that the November Navnite has been changed from Toolangi to the Western Tyers District.

The compeditors doing the Walhalla/ Erica Navrun will have a good glance of the tracks I am talking about around that area.

com'on someone must want to go for a ride!!!. A free ride! I'm not expecting any money, all you need is to know how to use a GPS and read a map. I'm in Geelong and will pick you up if it's on the way or close to.
What does a guy gotta do to get a navi???????????

2 late withdrawels, so we have 2 spots left.

Go to our website for details www.navrun.com.au or ring me on 03 9789 6985.

In the process of setting up my computer in my vehicle.

Looks like I may be selling these soon. For about $1,000 you get 8" touch screen, hard drive pentium 3, 256ram, btw 10-40 gig hard space( your choice), dvd drive, directly plugs in 12volt, etc.

With bonus 1,600 maps of Vic and software to run them all on windows XP. and GPS mouse. All you do is install it. The hard drive will fit inside your glovebox as well.

Will keep everyone informed about it. If interested email me on navrun@navrun.com.au and I'll put you on the list.

Got home bit over an hour ago, Been Fed and Watered, showered and shitted and now time for a quick report.
Typical Navrun event, was excellent!!
Well organised, Great food, thanks Terry Roberts and his helpers
Congratulations to Brad, Nicole, Paul and Joe from team VAT for winning and Jack and Gerrard for third. They done well.
There was good driving and some even beter driving if you took a wrong turn :?
Paired up with Peter Ing and his misses Nipper, who had never tackled any such event before, And stole there friend, Lauren, off them to navigate for me. Never used a GPS before, never done any naviing before. Gave her a quick lesson in GPS point etc and away she went. They all done really well for first timers and Lauren done better than i could ever have anticipated, but then she had a great teacher ;)
The result, We got second
I was proud of them and pleased with myself.
Thanks to all the other competitors, congratulations to all and a really big thanks to the sponsors for all the goodies handed out.
