G'day, I am a new member to this forum and have a quick question.
I am currently in the process of putting 33's onto my 97 hilux, to do this I require to do a body lift. I have opted for a 2'' bodylift I have aquired the lift blocks. my question is now what further mods do i have to do???
Do I have to lengthen the steering rack??
Do I have to do anything to the the gearbox tunnel??
What is the best method for doing the lift????
Thanks for your time.
Regards

not sure if its the same but on my 4runner (hilux) 90 model i just had to losen the steering arm inside under the dash before the lift, and after the lift do it up again.
Is it auto or manual? If its auto i think there is a clip that you just undo under the lever i think.........
If its manual you will have to lengthen the gear levers (best idea) or if not cut and bend them.
Do a side at a time ie. drivers side then passegers side. Do it SLOWLY when you jack it up. Its to easy to do a lift just take your time to do it right.

97 model I presume you have comprohensive insurance ??Check with them first as most common insurance companies wont insure a 4by with body lift only 50 ml suspension lift. There is other mobs out there but may require engineers certificate and the cops definatly will want to see the papers. Dont mean to sound boring but I have been there and done that but dont want to see you spend your hard earned $$$ to get yourself in shit especially if you run up the arse of a merc or bmw and they wont pay out cause of your mods. Just a thought thats all. Regards Steve M
yes, check with your insurance (if you care, some people dont)
With a 2" there is no need to extend your brake lines and you dont have to drop your radiator if you dont want, but its easy to do, just make up a couple of brackets.

Thanks for your time.I have a 92 hilux ln106 did a 2 inch body lift only problem was had to remove gear stick and bend slightly, now first gear is reasonably close to dash which worked out well because my kid sits in the middle and now the gear stick doesnt smash her in the legs, also had to cut slight amount out of cab floor as low range stick kept jumping out of 4wd.

i did a 2" lift on my 4 runner and all i had to do was loosen the steering rod and remove a piece of plastic near the fan. (Stopit from hiiting) then i just tightened the rod back up and had no troubles ever since.
