Which Zook to build up?
Which Zook to build up?
Hi
I have been looking through the Suzuki site for most of the day, day off so why not. And thre are some great looking Zook's out there.
Just wondering which zook would be the best to build up?
I need a new project, just asking for some ideas.
Thanks

Coily's started in 1996 (March?) so from then onwards all of the Sierra's were coil.
Coils cost more to modify heavily, but are softer on the road. My coily is already too rough so I don't think I'd go for a leaf.
Depending on your budget, 2" lift with some 29" all terrain or mud terrain makes a very capable Zook. If you want to go further without making it stand out, throw a rear air locker in there. Costly though.

Definitely a LWB 1.3, if you can find one.
the LWB climbs much better, is more practical, and hides a bit more lift and tyre for you poor, poor QLD boys because the longer length makes them look more like a mini hilux- a larger tyre looks more proportional.
the bad news is they are hard to find, often a bit rusty in the back (leaky soft tops) and all narrow track, unless you can find a NSW delievered LWB WT (ateco, the NSW suzuki distributor got hold of LWB WT sierras, pretty much the pick of a sierra, but the rest of australia didn't.)
despite building two for club members, I wouldn't build a SWB myself. and i don't build with more than 2" bdoy lift a 2" springs, (although there are some other tricks) so I am talking more in line with a Qld build than a NSW build- I'd still go LWB either with the lower height.
Steve.
