hilux 2.8d alternator upgrades

Post by killalux »

what options are available for an alternator upgrade on a diesel hilux?
is it possible to use a gq diesel alternator which i have been told has a vacume pump built in, is this true?
what is involved in setting up a dual alterntor, dual battery system?
thanks.

the way i would do it . vacuum pu7mp off a chevy v8 diesal[all they are good for]then u fit bosch 85 amp alt delta wound to 125amp. yes a bit of fabrication involved but results are worth it .only costs 85 to over haul if it fails.vacuum pump is belt driven.
