60 diffs under rocky

for all that this may concern 60 series diffs fit straight under the front and the rear of a rocky.....the driveshafts however are different.

ok well i thought id put up some pics of the front diff mounted in place... i need to save the dosh for the rear as im just gonna coil it. the front is just sitting there, i need to put on my bubs crossmember and extended shackles on hilux rears (same length and pin offset as rocky front but rocky bushes are shit and i dont want to have to press out bushes every time i wear them out)

more pics will come as more stuff is done

MQs by like 15mm..... but 60s fit front AND rear

Arnt 60's diff spua looks as tho u have them Spoa so would they bolt straigh into a rocky?? without modding?? btw its looking tuff as evan on 31's :D

yeah they actually fit SUA, i am fitting the front SOA using the original u bolt plate thing they have, and putting some extra support on it just incase. the rear is getting coiled when the cash maney is right.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

k so if both MK/MQ and 60's diffs are an easy conversion what are some of the pros and cons for eith diff conversion?

1# price and availability :?: - my guess would be MQ for being cheep and being available just about everywhere.

2# ease of installation, eg. just fitting under the vehicle :?: - 60's my guess depending on wheather you want spoa or spua

3# requirements for conecting the steering linkages to the wider axles :?:

4# what axles come with better brakes, and/or what extra modifying is required to have the brakes effective. eg. booster & master cylinder conversion :?:

5# diffrence in with from standard rocky axles and between the 2 :?:

6# diff centre ratios diffrences :?:

7# after market parts available for these axles from non-gen bearings & seals to lockers and LSD's :?:

Nissan MK/MQ patrol

1# i dunno
2# had to move MQ/MK rear mounts (SUA) inboard
3# have to machine rocky draglink Rod End smaller to fit mk tierod
note havent tried nissan RE in rocky draglink yet
4# slot in GQ booster
5# nissan axles 2" thicker, stronger everything inside n out compared to hatsu
6# same same between yotas n nissan---ask ARB, TJM, whatever tickles ur pickles
7# same as ^^

there was a reason y i got mqs over 60...
something about strength rings a bell but dont qu0te me on that :?

MQs are cheap and physically larger (axles, CVs etc.) 60s are slightly more expensive and are smaller. the 60 diffs are 15mm narrower drum to drum, they also have larger brakes front and rear. MQs weigh less (dunno how this happens) there are more aftermarket parts available for toyota 60 than for nissan MQ. most MQ standard 4.6 and 60 series are 4.11, ARB stock 4.88 for both. i got the 60 diffs because WILL didnt need em and they have an detroit auto locker in the front. just lucky they fit...... but now im lookin at doin coil all round with 80 series cast arms front and 4 link rear.

I now working on my Daihatsu Fourtrack 2,8TD. There will be Nissan H233B diffs and coilsprings front and rear. The rear diff are fitted with Nissan waccum difflock. The tire are BFG MT 35" on 15"x8" rims.

thatll be mad, one of our......aquaintances/mates has done the same thing to a rocky ute. looks awsome and the car works great too.
