Option 2 worked now. It makes good reading and its always reassuring to know that the Cheap chinese winches are as crap as I have always said they were!
The hardest thing about owning a jeep is telling your parents you're g a y!!
first off all i have a 9000lb the 4.6hp motor warn on 80 series cruiser not real happy
previously had old 2.5 hp 8000 lb high mount couldnt kill it i never had a snatch block back then but it pulled like a train (on a 75 series troopy)
the new one with a snatch block not real good just seems to be struggling not to mention the lack of wire
about lockers i couldnt decide i wish i read a article about f vs r lockers ended up buying both but regret it the only time i use both is when i try and get through or up something you normally wouldnt even look at without lockers if i lived down south melb or syd they would get a good work out
I just finished rebuilding mine
Water got in as usual , lasted 12 months so not bad
the motor needed sandblasting for rust and the gearbox needed cleaning and fresh greasethe only bad part i found was the rivets that hold the gear packs together were not riveted properly and there is no seal at all on the selector lever. oh ya there is no forn of grease on the motor end bush , works well now and a lot quieter than new.
wish list (lockers,lift,endless air,winch,bar,spotties,35s,paint job,turbo,18yrs old hottie

Kingchevy, or anyone else, what is the 6Hp motor upgrade for the Warn 8274? Is it just a motor upgrade over the 4.8hp standard motor?
I have had an 8274 for over 20 years and it was second hand when I bought it. Burnt out one motor a few years back but otherwise no problems. However it seems to be running out of puff recently - I finally got around to mounting the solenoid pack under the bonnet out of the mud and water, and wonder if perhaps the cables I used were too small - standard starter motor cables. Normally I use a double purchase pull, but last weekend had to use a 4x purchase to get me out of some deep ruts on a steep track!! Winch just seemed a bit gutless.
On the question of front/rear lockers I have used a combination of Detroit in the rear and ARB in the front for nearly 10 years. Works very well and I don't lose both lockers if the compressor packs up. Only problem with the Detroit (as with all lockers when locked) is a tendency to push the rear of the vehicle downhill which is how I dropped the back into the deep ruts I was trying to avoid!
Apologies if this is a bit off topic of Chinese winches but hoped to catch Kingchevy's eye.
