The questions needs to be asked.. What are you trying to gain running 2 snorkels?? Its comparative to dual exhausts.

One 4" pipe is way better and greater volume than 2 2.5" snorkels.. Would look funny not tough.. Just my opinion

The Nash's run dual safari snorkels on their shorty GQ, looks tuff as IMHO, I think the one on the drivers side may be off a 75 series or something like that after reading an article about it in one of the mags sometime ago, its been discussed on here many times, maybe do a search for dual snorkels and you may be able to find the thread.

They're needed to feed air to a 351 windsor

As said, one 4inch snorkel does most V8 conversions ive read about.

Kym Bolton runs twins, but think only one goes to airbox, other was for cooling

The one in the pic is a infinity v8 with about 180kw and it has enough air.

2 x 2.5 snorkles is a waste of mine time

A single 3.5" snorkel is basically as good as two 2.5" snorkels.

A 4" snorkel is considerably better than two 2.5" snorkels.

To put it another way, if you treat a 2.5" snorkel as "100% air flow" then:

3" = 144% airflow
3.5" = 196% airflow
4" = 256% airflow
4.5" = 324% airflow

Not that I have ever seen a 4.5" snorkel.

Frankly I think a single 3" snorkel, like a normal safari one, would be plenty for your 351 anyway; you are overestimating your needs if you think you need more than that.

Yes I agree a Safari snorkle looses 30 to 40 hp on a V8 as I have proven on a dyno - I have now fitted a 4" steel snorkle

its bad enough having one. i remember a winch challange late last year at lcmp where almost every car pushed their snorkel back, some through the glass.

run one 3.5 or 4" and it will be heaps. they also get in the way of lights on the roof, twice the risk of getting water in, makes plumbing more bitsy, twice the risk of leaks, lower air speed in each reduces how well the cyclonic filters work in trucks with them.

cheers bru

actually large gains have been made by just not running the Ram head on the snorkel - just open to the elements.

I currently run 1 single 3 inch snorkel pipe on my 308 and i can tell you one thing.

the moment that snorkel goes on is the moment i need to wind my idle right up as its starving for air and stalls itself at idle.

with the snorkel and housing off if the snorkel has been on with idle set it ends up reving at 1700 rpm.

this tells me that 1x 3 inch pipe is no where near enough for my 308 and i believe that a 351 would need conciderably more than my 308.

this restriction i have with the snorkel on also effects fuel economy by a large amount. i chew through lots for gas with the snorkel on. this is y i only put it on for competition and remove it as soon as competition is over.

this is just food for thought in my experiance as alot of the above posts are speculation and few have or actually do run any of these setups.

i recomend one single 4 inch for my rig or at least a second 3 inch pipe, so for yours i would recomend the same.

twin airflows is irespective of twin exausts. you can never have too much air flow. the more the better, so no need to restrict it. exaust however has to be limited for various reasons such as back pressure and even silly things like noise and polution regulations.

my 2 cents.
