Post by mudmav »

hey guys i have removed my precleaner and have run some 3 inch tube for my intake its real dodgy though as the tube does not connect to my snorkle well at all. Any help with a better solution i tried search but not much their. I have heard rumours about a v6 commodore air box conversion but would need to see pics or a good explantion. Any help appreciated

Why did you remove the pre-cleaner?

I had a bracket made up for where the snorkel goes thru the guard.
its just the bracket thats there, with another piece of pipe welded to it, so I could hoseclamp the pipe from there to the airbox on.

I am just about to embark on this project myself but on a SD33T Mk 1986
I am having a 3" stainless snorkel bent up and have a VR commodore box to replace the "large pizza" one on top so I have room for my intercooler. I am slightly behind because my Starter motor just died and about $500 maybe be lost repairing it.. When I get back to it I will post all my pics and details for ya...

You can get these silicone/neoprene (or something) on ebay that the turbo cars use.. They are blue in color but are all sizes with 45 + 90 degree bends in them also from 2' to 3' adaptors and so on.. Sorry I can't help more mate. I will post up as soon as I get some $$$ back.. Good luck.
VR Commodore box $45. Commodore hoses x 6 $17
