Are you V8ing it? If not I'd wya go EFI and turbo over a 4.2 swap. The 4.2 gearbox will drive you mad with it's 5 second gearchanges after the 3 litre box.

Sure it's got torque, but it needs it considering it drops 1000 rpm between gearshifts.

youll be lucky to get $1000 for a vl motor i had 2 sitting in the shed i couldnt even get 100 buck for.

Vl engines are 175$ at pick and payless
they are around the 200$ mark elsewhere

the box is the same as a VL turbo box. and is worth probably 3-4 hundred if it had VL output housing

There's a big difference between selling it as a wrecker to an unaware idjit and selling one out of your garage.

Yeah mate, i have a VR SS 5 litre to go in it, it should go pretty well once it is done. The fuel price is gettin scary but, LPG is lookin good.......
