clutch issues

Post by macklux83 »

hni all, i have just finished replacing the clutch in my LN65 hilux, everything is back together but i dont think that i am bleeding the clutch properly. i have got a bit more pressure on the pedal but still not enough to get a gear,if i put it flat i can just get it into reverse with a bit of a grind. if i start the car in gear with the clutch in i can move it that way and it stalls if you try and start her in gear so im hoping that it is just the slave cylinder acting uyp and not anything inside the box.
any suggestions?
cheers

Hi, i have a 2.8 diesel hilux and jst replaced the clutch after putting a turbo on... I had the same problem as you, what it is, is that the slave cylinder iis not actually pushing the clutch far enough..
There is an adjustment on the bottom side of the clutch pedal, you have to undo a r clip, remove the pin for the pedal and adjust the screw out from the pedal, so that the clutch is pushed further in...

i moved mine bout 3-4mm, but you gotta try it and see if its enough..

Hope it helps
