Is there a TRUE 32" tyre

Ive found out that my 32" muddies are more like 31"s, 31.18 to be more precise . Is there mud tyre out there either 15 or 16" wheels that is between 32" and 32.4" no wider that 11.5"
Closes im aware of is 265/75 16r (31.65")
Is there a 270/75 16r??

my Nankang Mudstars that read 33"x12.5"x15 are actually 32"x11.5"x15. Talking to the guys that run the Total Tyre Team at Son of Trials, thinks that what theyre called, they own Ace Tyres in Sydney and distribute to almost everybody, and they were saying that theyre going to push the Mudstars as a 32" tyre cos thats what it really measures and theres not muhc in the range to suit. I was disappointed as you seem to be swbpajero that your tyres dont measure what theyre meant to, but with something like this they will actually measure out to the size your after rather than being 33". hope this helps somewhat, theyre a prety decent tyre i find, they have their downfalls but the price is right theres some info on here about them, Simon from 4WDTV runs them as his serious tyres. im sure the guy has access to anything he wants but he still runs Mudstars on his fourby...somehting to think about

Cheers, I was looking for nan kangs in 32s before I got these but there were non in stock in aus at the time and me being Impatiant I said to myself , bugger it pay the extra. But if I new the nan kang 33" were a true 32"x 11.5 I would of got those. Oh well live and learn.

Just looked up nankangs site and they are 32.12 in OD(perfect) but 2 wide for me , they are 12.44" TW. Think Ill just have 2 sus all the other brands out their, Or sus out my guard, may just have 2 do some minor cutting.

I havnt checked coopers site out yet but is the 32" tyre a TRUE 32"? Ive got 32" good year tyres but only 31.2 and looking around at other brands it seems to be common that the tyre is smaller than what they say.

Yep checked them out and the 31x10.5 extreem trecker looks to be perfect, the true size is 32.2x10.5. But not sure if I want to go that agressive and possably out of my price range, what are they worth $400+??But god they look good.

nah they are quite cheep in a 31 id say they would be around the $200 mark i run 36" simex are they are 400+ a tyre and mine measure 36.4" tall

just shecked out BFG site and their 32" is a 31.8" which is a hell of alot closer than goodyears.But I cant justify getting new tyres for 7mm clearance. But I did find on the site a 33x10.5 which may fit.(actual size 32.8"x10.5")
so its BFG vs simex get some prices during the week, thats probably what it will come down 2.

They have a tread pattern similar to BFG muds, are cheap (around $200) and have a pretty good reputation (according to users on this forum). The only problem now is finding someone who stocks them in Brisbane or Qld.

I will definitely be looking for a set next time I am in Brissy.

I just checked out there site but did you measure mm into inches by 25.4mm to an inch. I found that they were 31.77x11.4 , but closer than my wranglers.

Dang!! You're right. I worked it out thinking there were 25mm in an inch. Oh well, these are the closest 32's to 32 inches that I have found so far (except for BFG muds which are 31.8). I'll have to keep looking.

would those 33 inch nankangs (leasuring 32 inches) fit on 15x7 inch rims? or would that be just as illegal as putting 31s on a 15x6 inch rim? If nankang has their actual OD measurement out, would they have their minimum width specs out too?

i find my 33x12.5 to measure 32x11.5 on a 15x8" rim. simon, mudtoy, from here from 4WDTV runs the nankang mudstars all the time on a 15x7 rim, recommends it, buti dunno bout actual legality

Don't you just hate choosing tyres! I spent the better half of the afternoon ringing around getting prices! Every guy has his own opinion. One thinks Goodyear MTRs are shit, then one guysays they are the best and he uses them. I wish it was possible to test them all.

Different strokes for different folks. Those that hate MT/Rs may say "they're too noisy - buy Pirelli Scorpions" or "they're crap in mud - get Claws." If you don't mind the noise (what noise? ) and are not a mud-plugger, they'll probably be fine.

What else are you considering?

Well considering all the sand we have in WA , the amount of on road driving I do and my general lack of funds *hangs head in shame* desert duelers look to be the go. If I am making a rther large mistake could someone inform me before a fortnights time! I was also thinking about the Hankook dynamic mts in a 31"10.5.

Yeah I considered that but noone in WA seems to be selling their tyres haha. I think the duelers are the go. I got a 200 dollar voucher for bob jane so 4 new tyres and new rims with patrol offset including my spare will cost me 700 which seems alright. With the new rims if some second hand muddies come to my attention I can run two sets of tyres. As for now my scorpians (really over-rated tyre) are in need of replacement, they may aswell be slicks.

I found a true 32 inch tyre. Super Swamper Radial TSL – 32x10.5R15. Actual OD 32.1. Have NFI about these tyres though. Look noisy but tough!

Also found simex extereme trekker 2 ,31x10.5-15r which are 32.2x10.5 which are perfect for me except that they are so agressive and noisy and handle like crap on the bitumen. But Im not buying them for the bitumen hey But look awsome too and only $265 a tyre. Thinking i might get these as I cant find anything else and as Im lowering my car to just a 1inch lift so these are prbably the bigest and widest I can go wothout to much rubbing. I will also have to get some A\Ts 31s for the longer trips for camping/ weekends away etc.

Also I think those 33" nan kangs are more like 32.2x12.4 from looking at their web site.(2 wide for me.bugger)

generally speaking i find the nankangs to be about 11.5" wide on an 8" rim. a 7" rim would probably make them stand a little skinnier. The thing with measuring them is that they have a round shoulder not a square shoulder lug like an MTR. so the sidewall width is about 12.5", but the actual tread width is more like about 11" even. so i find somehwere about the 11.5" mark is more appropriate, id have to physically measure them, but thats pretty close, and others have found the same too

i don't know about a true 23 inch tyre but 235/85 are 31.8 tall and 255/85 is 33.1 tall both being on 16 inch rims and they're both narrow.
