MK lift question

Post by buddha »

Just wanted to check with you guys, a mate is wanting to get a bit more lift on his swb mk.Already has 2" springs and extended shackles. Doesnt want to bodylift, and is going to somehow extend the spring hangers, i assume he is getting 1 or 2 " block steel and welding it to the chassie then welding his hangers under that.

Is this a good smart move, or not?

SPOA (sprin perch over axel) on flat or sagging standard leaves, similiar to like a 4 inch lift and flex REALLY well and you can do a wheel base extenstion easyer that way too.

look at matmav, standard leaves SPOA on 35's works great

his truck is still sprung under to save all the mucking around.
Fits 35s fine, just think he wants a little extra.

the shackles are longer than the 2 " extended shackles, and they work very well.

Saw the front ( newly extended mounts) he fabed up today. Exactly same purpose and the original hangers, only the backs of the front springs and the front of the rear springs, not touching the shackle mounts, and has pushed his front diff 2" forward nicely and given him an extra 2 - 3 inches of lift, could eaisly fit 37s now.

As said before , just look like overgrown spring hangers, all welded up nicely and beefy.

Will try and get some pics happening tomorow.

Yeah it flexes really well using standard springs, gives about 8" lift with SOA. And its matsmad :D
