I find plastic linings too slippery with what i need to carry in the back (pallets)
or should i just use a rubber mat?

yep, got the inside of my sierra done by xtreme coatings on the northside.
Lasted well and easy to repair if it does ever get too cut up by toolboxes and shit. Poly urea flexes well, doesn't suck moisture under.
go hit this link for some pics of their work
http://www.pointnshoot.org/index.php?mo ... ges&fid=26
then call Tim on 38655820, assuming your nr brisbane that is.

From what I was told (a long convo) by the Rhino guy at the Brissy 4x4 show, is the spay-ons are not an issue with the D40 tie down system.
THey would normally put a 4mm coating on the floor and a 2mm coating on the sides.
I am seriously concdering getting the spray on stuff (on my D40 that should be here ina couple of weeks) from what I am told by the supliers of such products, and from experiences of people with the drop in poly liners.

i had Rhino linings (Chipping Norton) do my LWB zook last month. I wanted it primarily for a sound deadener. It is as effective as what came out, (padding & carpet that in total was approx 1cm thick). They plugged all the old holes (unused) that were not needed then sprayed over them. So the rear bed looks sweet. Their is abit more warmth noticeable in the cab now from the tunnel, but nothing excessive. All up im happy with it.
I havnt had it long enough to say how it wears, but one thing im liking is the reduction in noise of things moving around in the back.
Cleans easily too when hit with the hose.

We had the spray on liner put into our new Fire Brigade Hilux......looks good and seems to be standing up well to the crew's giving it a hard time
......throwing hose's inc couplings, A+B class foam, ventelation fan and all the other gear we carry around
Only thing I would make sure of is that the ute tub is very dry and clean, we had to wait a week or so for the weather to warm up before they would do it
But then again its Ballarat Im talking about !

thats for a '06 Hilux Duel Cab.
I will try and find out for sure just for interest sake if nothing else

** Above price is wrong
......Coast around $600-$800, depending where you get it from.
I was only a little out !

Spray on liners have very crap service......in Melbourne anyway!!
I had a manager call me from Queensland asking how i went with my call back......he want impressed that no one had called me back yet......
anybody know how much the spray in liner is going to cost?
anyway i am not chasing them!!
I have look at rubber matts made out of recycled truck tyres. they 12mm thick. for the matts and wheel arch protectors is only $250

Mick,
If you go for the matt idea its just a "Band Aid Fix" and I know you wont be happy with just matts.
well worth saving and waiting, might be just a matter of shoping around and haggle as much as you can.....retail is for suckers
Also might be worth going to Ballarat or Geelong, do you anybody in either place where you "Drop in" to stay over night ?
Ballarat and Geelong are just big country towns, so Just like other country towns shop owner's cant afford to stuff people around or they just close down because of bad rep and no sales.......its that simple.
Try Geelong off road centre in Fyans st great people and very good service....they also have a web site. but Im not sure they do the Rhino liners though
Even with driving to else where and staying overnight at least you will get it done
