PIRANHA PURSUIT 10/11th June (Queens B/day weekend)- Details
As you all know Piranha has jumped on board and have secured the naming rights of this event for the next 3 years. Steve Hobbs, one of the original founders of this event is back on board with Rudi Paoletti, the organisers of the Navruns, Navnites, Cliffhnager and Amazing Race.
The event will start on the Saurday at 12 noon & conclude with a presentaion breakfast on the Monday morning.
The event will be broken down in 2 stages on the Saturday and Sunday., (with a short compulsory break- sleep)
There are teams of 2 vehicles. Included in your entry fee, are 2 dinners and 2 breakfast as well.
Base camp is only 1 hr north of the Princes Hwy, either from Moe or Traralgon.
Spectators are welcome.
The terrain is tough, but not vehicle breaking. Some tracks include, Deep Creek, Abbott Creek, Fulton Creek, etc. To compete you must have at least 1 diff lock, 33'" or greater aggressive tyres and a winch.
Navigation is very very simple. The focus of this event is endurance and tough 4wd driving for about 20-24 hours.
Prizes are plentiful, with trophies up to 10th place.
We would like to thank all our sponsors for this event. They are Piranha, Atoc Auto Repairs, Ontrack 4x4, PGS Racing, On 4 to U, The Smart Guys, J.T. Fibreglass, Glenmount 4x4 Automotive, Fast Fit Somerville, Marks 4wd Adaptors, Icom, Silverstone Tyres, Dynamica Rope, & Brawn Winches.
4wdTV & Australian 4wd Monthly magazine will also be there, not only sponsoring us, but securing footage and write ups.
There are only 8 spots left for this event. We have had a good response and entries have been coming in thick and fast.
To secure your position go to our website and submit your entry form.
There are a lot more details on our web for this event.
All details please go to www.navrun.com.au
You can also phone us on 03 9789 6985.
Regards, Rudi

Hobzee and I did some setting up on Saturday. The easier tracks we were doing were a struggle in the wet, and we haven't started on the tough tracks. And imagine if it starts snowing in the Mt. Selma area.
Yep, heaps of warm gear guys, or maybe not for the guys or gals who will be winching.
Some excellant scenic tracks and a lot of variety, so it won't be boring.
Cannot wait.

Hey Rudi & Steve,
I've had a good look at the website, but could find no information regarding insurance for the event? If it's slippery for the winch b!tches, then here's hoping people are covered. hate for murphy's law tro prevail and leave you and hobsy exposed.
Other events mention CCDA affiliation or coverage supplied by "blah blah insurance co.." - figured you would have the info up there given the entry fee.
I doubt that the coverage supplied by VAFWDC for club members would cover this.
Just a query but may be important as a couple of entrants and i have discussed this.

We have organised and run our own our insurance since 2004.
Entrants who don't have their own insurance should be CCDA members. Coverage is only $40 for the year.
Go to our website www.navrun.com.au and click on the CCDA link for more details.
Any further enquiries regarding this please email me at navrun@navrun.com.au

Try hooking it up to the second battery .Guts wrote:Thought it must have had that as it turns its self off when I start the lux.Hales231271 wrote: They have a built in low voltage switch off.
If voltage drops bellow that point the fx will turn off.
Problem is fixed using a small Lead acid battery and a diode.

I have got a short 20-25min edited video of some action from the pursuit, on ss1 & ss3 (the night stage if it wasnt ss3!), and a few pics to go along with it.
If your interested, cost is $5 to cover the postage etc to have it in your hot little hands....
Or if your in the Frankston to Dandy area in vic, I could drop it off, or something could be organised.
pm me if your intersted!
