Also look at lengthening your WB and upgrading your tyres at the same time. While not specificaly nessasary, if your going to the trouble of fitting new diffs, get the WB out to keep it stable in all dirrections. The bigger tyres will be needed to offfsetthe decrease of diff clearence plus you can take advantage of the increase strength. I think i will be the only zook in Newy still running match stick axles soon. Heres to many more happy cv shattering moments.

Have you got any current shot's of your rig? I think I remember seeing on overklls site.NIK wrote:I didnt have the skills or tools do it so I took mine to Overkill. Very good price alot cheaper than I thought (atleast half what I was quoted locally) and the quality was great. Should have done it first instead of converting to w/t diffs with all the goodies, very happy with it.

Tailshafts i think u can do a hilux hybrid but prob best to work out at the end. same as shock placement and choice.
Do you want to keep leafs or coils? with leaves u can either convert and use lux springs all round or use the zook springs. I believe u have to go SPOA with the lux diffs also.

Did you look here at all???? Or provide a bit more info on what you want. Links and coils or leaves or air shocks ETC.

Nt tottaly different fron WT, not really. Sure the spring's are outboard in a WT, but tottally different????? Rears up front setup is the same with any axle, search on RUF and you will get a heap of threads. Would explain more but im sposed to be doing a uni assignment due tomorrow.wezook wrote:yes i did look at the pirate site and the only seem 2 hav info on wt mines a nt wich u no is totaly different i do plan 2 ues zook leaves with rears up front and i also have new procomp shocks from the spring over that just got dun(WAST) plan 2 hav lux diffs soa do front spring hangers hav 2 moved 2 outside chass if so mos well do shackle reverse

Yeah what layto said, but more in depth..
A narrow track has the spring perches mounted in line with the chassis, where as a wide truck has them mounted slighting further apart out from the chassis.
This will not matter with your toy conversion because toy diffs are further apart anyway.. So you will need to look at moving the mounts out the same width as the front diff. You can not move the mounts in on the front diff because the pumpkin is in the way. (hehe I said pump). I would suggest you need to make a new cross/chassis extension to the front anyway if you are planning to RUF so the mounts shouldn’t be much of and issue.
The rear how ever is slightly different. Because the pumpkin is centred you can change either the mounts on the chassis to suit the diff OR change the mounts on the diff to suit the chassis mounts… So I’m guess you want to know the difference. If you change it to suit the chassis, the mounts on the diff will be closer. This means that you will get more leverage against the spring which equals more flex.
I would also recommend putting some longer springs in when you are doing the swap. You will get more flex, better ride and more wheel base.
Then you need to look at steering. Either cross over or high steer. You can buy this pre-made or make it yourself using two arms, one welded upside down on the other (check out your mates).
Driveshaft, as Nick said the rear should be a hybrid of a toy double carden joint. The Uni’s should be about the same size. The NT though have a smaller flange. Go get yourself some WT flanges for the TCASE as the spline on the TCASE are the same I think.
You need new longer brake lines as well
Now start shopping and get all the parts in front of you and start posting pictures of the swap.
And who said I don't ever post tech

Your spelling makes your posts more difficult to read, easier to read posts will get more responses (I should have pointed that out), and I dislike lazy SMS style writing when you have a full keyboard in front of you. (personal preference on that I guess).
download the google toolbar, it has a spell checker built into it

Better yet you can type stuff in word then cut and paste...... Works good on large postslove_mud wrote:Your spelling makes your posts more difficult to read, easier to read posts will get more responses (I should have pointed that out), and I dislike lazy SMS style writing when you have a full keyboard in front of you.
