Drilling my TD4.2 exhaust manifold here OK?

Post by fnqcairns »

Will my EGT sensor read all cylinders if I place it in the centre of that raised circular section near the flange or are the exhaust gasses still divided at this point?
Slowly getting ready to fit gas somewhere down the track.

Thanks fnq

slight hijack -- the manifold is nothing....nissan are still using the same screws to hold there dash's on as there were in 1969 for my old datsun 1600

quite possible that the manifold casting is the same, especially since the Diesel turbo manifolds apparently bolt onto the Petrol engines also.
The TB42 and TB42E ones are same dimensions but the early TB42 ones are missing that boss.... from memory.

that will work fine there on out trucks they are in the exhaust pipe behind the turbo and they are still accurate as the gas will not cool much over that short distance
