depends what sort of driving your going to be doing? or weather u want to run them all the time or rotate them ?

If it's only for bog holes, an interco bogger would do the job well. If you want to drive there and back, the simex ET or interco swamper would be the go. If you want to drive daily, go for an MT Radial Claw. IMO anyway...

It is funny people say they are not happy with the silverstone mt117's as 2 mates have them and are rapped at $220 a tyre they are good value for money. did you want dot approved tyres ? i have the new kumho kl17 mud and are very happy not sure if they have them in 35's ?

silverstone mt117's sports, I've got a set on the zook and I can't fault them. Good allround and will dig a bit deeper than an MTR. But we just ordered 8, 34" JT2's today for my bro's and my old man's toys, they are a nice looking tyre. :D + 4 new BFG At's for my daily, you cant go past them for mileage and performance... Its been an expensive morning...

If you are doing alot of road driving simexes wont last that long. but if you can afford two sets of tyres or not care about tire wear then go the simexes :D

For a shite tyre the little Silverstone Xtremes (only come in a 35, V's the 36 Simex) have won the last two rounds of the Qld winch comps plus placed in the top ten of round 1 XWC on a vehicle that broke it's front diff early on the Saturday and continued in 2wd.

Good tyre, great price, should be able to pick them up for around $300.

Silverstone MT117 (35) and MT117 Sports (33) are great value at just over $200 (MT117 would be one of the toughest tyres I have seen but doesn't have the hill and rut traction of a Simex or Silverstone Xtreme).

Maxxis Buckshots are good but a 35 Nankang has an identical tread pattern and comes in cheaper at just over $200.

Simon, i noticed that the nankang mudstar and maxxis buckshot were extremely similiar, but my concern is the true size of the Mudstar 35", after buying the 33" Mudstars they measure only 32"x11.5" rather than 33"x12.5", and i may have been better off with the 35"s if they are sized similiar, just curious is all, i rate them for what they are and at $178.50 ea fitted and balanced for 33"s cant really complain, even though theyre 32"... :x

I haven't actually put the tape measure onto the 33 Nankangs but we have heaps of friends running them who love the off road capability plus the long wearing tread. Our 35s have shocked us both on and off road with superior traction and quiet on road manners. The 35s are certainly a generous 35!

i am currently running 33 nankang muddies on my gu. i have done approx 20,000kms on them and they have worn 2-3mm, speaking of off-road capability they are great, but sitting next to a 33 mtr or bfg the size difference is outstanding they are a very small 33. over all a great tire on and off the road. my 2 cents.

exactly the same as my experience with them, an awesome tyre, very good price wise, a very decent tyre offroad, they wear well, theyre not noisy, but theyre just not 33" ! :x went from JT2s which were almost 35" and then to the Nankangs which are like 32", i almost lost 3" of tyre size and theyre both printed as the same size tyre.... :roll:

would you happen to know how generous simon??? maybe an exact size on a 15x 8 rim??? just curious as for my next tyres, im very happy with the Mudstars and for the price i dont mind if they get trashed or dont last AS long, theyre shiteloads cheaper :D
