Dynotune - recommendations for Melbourne

Post by walker »

Hi all,
Anyone got any recommendations for getting the Rangie Dynotuned, preferably out in the Croydon area.

I put a 4.6l motor in it at Christmas but kept in on carby (WW Stromberg). At the moment it is running mega rich and I can only get about 30l/100km on the road and around 45l/100km offroad.

I guess dyno would be the best way to tune it???

Also has anyone had it done and what should it cost me?
Thanks,

Adam

Thanks, I will try them both.

I rang Bog Cog in Croydon but the guy did not seem too interested in doing it. I wanted to get a rough price to know what I would be up for and he would not even doo that, just said any where from $400 an up.

I am wondering now if I can just get it tuned at a place without a dyno. I don't want a race car or anything, just something that is running right and not using a tanker load of fuel.
Thanks,

Adam

Adam,

A few of my mates have had RR and Nissans dynoed out that way (both by the same place, have forgotten details ) but were happy.

I'll find out tomorrow for you.

Dave.

There are a couple of places in Malvern Street Bayswater that could do it. I had my 5 litre 4.4 with ww done there around 10 years ago. cant think of the name now, starts with M, just around the corner on the left from Bayswater Rd.

If you want to go to the expense of dyno tune, http://www.dyno.com.au/nearest/vic.htm lists many including

JPC Johnson Performance Centre
27 Lipton Drive
Thomastown 3074
Tel No : 03 9469 2566
Fax No : 03 9469 2966

ARB Northern

Thomastown 3074
Tel No : 03 9460 9988
Fax No : 03 9460 1100

But as aquarangie said, you may be better off especially $$$ with the old fashioned job. I From what I have heard any dyno tune will be cost $600+

Got my supercharged nissan tuned at errols in Lilydale, he does a few comp trucks.

Daves3 you are probably talking about the same place, he has tuned anthony's rover a few times

EFI Dynamics, if you are running aggressive tires he prefers to do it after hours

Factory 12, 64-86 Beresford Rd
Lilydale, Vic 3140

Thanks mate, I have it booked in at "Elite tuning" in Ringwood tomorrow. I am going to see if he can tune it without having to put it on a Dyno. This place has a fixed price of $88 for tune and what is better he shares his factory with another business that reconditions Carby's. Between the 2 of them I hope they can work out any problems.
Thanks,

Adam
