widening mq track

Post by takearidewifme »

curious to know whether I can use standard parts to widen MQ diffs. was thinking about 2 inch wider by cutting the housing ( either long or short side) and extending 2 inches then HOPEFULLY using a standard axle from another model that has the same spline that is the right length....
I KNOW THAT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO USE GU OR GQ BUT i CAN GET MQ FOR $90.00( sorry to yell)... Are my thoughts wasted of can it be done?

I wouldnt go to all that hassel, just get wheel spaces or get your rims cut and fliped with custom offset. My wheel track is a tad over a GQ with my rims cut and fliped.

yeah I did think of that but its the mounting and bumpstop locations that I wanted wider although they will be converted to 4 link.... How much narrower than a gq is the mq exactally?

Gq is about 2.5 inch wider on either side....

and y do that hassle to MQ diffs... they are not worth the time, if your going to do that much work, do it right and at least get some strength out of it by using stronger diffs.
there is a reason mq diffs are cheap.
