Hankook muds
Hey all,
I just bought (or arranged to buy) a set of 5 Hankook mud tyres (from the for sale section here actually).
Brand new, fitted and balanced for $600
My question - is Hankook a good brand - I haven't actually seen anyone with them before.
By the way, I ask if they are a good brand but keep in mind the price, I hardly expect to get something fantastic but just don't want them to fall apart on me.

Yeah they are not too bad. I had some on my last zook which did me around 50,000 kays. They did 50% bitumen, 20% dirt road (very sharp rocks) and 30% farm. Mine cost about $190 ea I think. I'd get them again when the tyres on my current zook cark it.

ive been doing 505 road 50% mud
and belive me they were the best $600 ive ever spent
The realy do shine in mud and also looser dirt
Ive been doing mud every weekend for the last month and abit and ive never took any chunks or split and knobs
they dont make to much noise in the dry but in the wet aboiut 80km they get noisey and abit skiddy

I have run these tyres on the GQ since i got it(about 3 months). I got them coz they were a cheap set of 33s until i got a decent engine to turn 35s. However i have been quite impressed, especialy when you air them down......... They dont wear to well on road, but for what you pay for them you cant realy complain, and on a zook wear is not realy an issue(i had MT claws on my old zook and bearly wore 3mm of them in 15000km).
I say go it

hankook
I had 33 hankooks on my surf when i bought it and then got a set of bfg mud terrains. The handkooks were absolute crap, but i only realised when i used a better set of tyres. My Bf's are so much better offroad and an even bigger difference onroad. So much more grip in the wet and dont vibrate or bounce around nearly as much.
Sorry but i hated them.
Jimbo
PS: 1 application where i think they could be better is on sand as they balloon out with only a small pressure drop
