Diesel + water = SMOKE???

Post by Ryan »

Hey all, quick question, took a mates lil brother out for a quick play in the mud tonight (he got his Ps today), after playin round for a bit, and b4 i could stop him, he fired off down a little trail towards a long deep rutted boghole fulla water, made it about a carlength in and stopped dead with all 4 wheels in the air, water up2 the headlights and yeah

Question is, we had a small amount of oil come out from under it while we were puttin the ropes on, and when we got it out it was pumping out black smoke, the cars a stock 85 diesel lux.... it seemed to clear itself out a bit by the time we got it home, but is still blowin a bit of smoke, it didnt stall in the puddle........... any ideas???

Cheers

first of all check the airbox and the drainage.

Also check your glowplugs and injectors as well
and check the compression on each cylinders.

I've sucked a gut ful of water before and had a lot of smoke on my landcruiser. Result fully rebuilt now.

You can get into Jacksons Lane (legally) via the gate at Yellowmundie - closer to Richmond than Emu Plains - there is a 5km dirt track along the powerlines to get you back to the Jacksions Lane that you know.

Cheers.

It is definately legal.

The gate is on Springwood road, near the bends. The gate is sometimes locked, but usually during bushfire season. There are no problems accessing Jacksons Lane via the powerlines.
