hey matt whats it cost rebuild one the those 6.5 litre turbo chevs. we got one in at work from a suburban which was cracked heads, cracked piston and bent rods. i was to going to get the motor becuase we put a new one into it but they tell its around 5 grand just for pistons and rods. would it still be worth grabing if its still about.
Sounds like it's been swimming!!!
Not worth keeping Ruggers. If the motor has that much damage, the webbing in the block around the crankshaft journals will be cracked or stressed, and if the rods are bent they may possibly be bits missing from the bottom of the cylinder.
You would have replaced the engine with a long motor so I would say you don't have any of the ancileries.
So my answer to your question is no, it would not be worth the trouble.
