The down side to this event is ozrock round 3 is off Well its more the round that was going to be on on this date is off. Ozrock rounds later in the year will still be going ahead.

As this event will more then likely be run under CCDA we can not make these rules concrete as the CCDA people we need to talk to are at the Outback Challenge all this week. As soon as we can we will make rules concrete, so please be understanding in this matter. If you`re rig doesn`t fit in any of these classes please contact me via pm and I will try and work something out to fit you in. Thank you.

Quite a few people have tcase gear changes, and most people would agree that it can be a double edged sword leaving gaps in gearing between first high and top low. The people with single cases are likely to be the ones that have the more moderate gear ratios (ie <3.8:1).
It would seem more feasable to have a difference between Tryer and Challenge of not weather they have gears or twin cases, but on the overall maximum gearing difference from transmission output to tcase output, in other words (say) <3.8:1 or>3.8:1.
There are vehicles around that have 4:1 low ratio as standard (eg. Jeep Rubicon) and these would be at an unfair advantage in the Tryer and Standard classes.
Tryers class: spiring overs allowed, but no additional links...Does this include an trac bar? I would think for most vehicles that would be an on-road safety issue.
For Standard class a "+2 inch" limit on the tyre size as alowed by the new NCOP. The first thing ppl do is get bigger tyres. You really don't want to limit this class to "straight off the showroom floor" with absolutely no "common" mods allowed.
Not being critical of the idea, (can't bloody wait to see them ) but a bit of fine tuning of the rules may be needed.
My 2c worth(less?)....

George Carlin, an American Comedian said; "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise that half of them are stupider than that".
No matter how you define classes there will always be something that is unfair for somebody.
As for the gears, my rockhopper gears give me approx 90:1, dual cases with stock gers in both give basicly the same. So if gears are allowed but duals aren`t its not fair.
If you have a trac bar on a spring over you are in challenge.

all terra comp
so will all the classes be required to have roll cages or just challange and unlimited.
i have a hilux with 34" jt 2s 2"suspension and 3 inch lift.
will i need a roll cage to run in tryers.

Unfortunately we don't live in the northern sushine state, and the weather has a big say in it.FireTruck wrote:Man, that sucks that OzRock 3 is cancelled.
We would rather have nice weather for more extreme competition and larger crowds.
Gotta love Melbourne...............4 seasons in one day.

Yes Shane it is, with winter apon us you saw the last round how wet and cold it was, I wasnt prepaired to spend up big again on advertising ect for a rock event that could get rained out so I thought of running this instead.
If it rains at the all terain event all the better
Before anyone asks anything (yes there is rock there)
This also lets us advertise more for the next round of OZ Rock at Walbundrie to make it bigger and better.
