extended shackles - hilux
Hey,
I'm currently in the process of getting some extended shakles made up at work.
I am looking a 2 inch extended shackles for a LN106 Hilux (1990).
Does anyone have any drawings of extended shackles ? With dimensions as well ? I am going to get a boilermaker at work to make some up.
Cheers.

Hi Stumpy,
I'm after 2" extended. Not too sure what rear springs I have, but they look like they are a 2" lift.
Looking to make up some for the rear springs ? Is it possible to make up some for the front springs as well ?
What would you recommend ?
I have a 2" bodylift, I think 2" lifted springs, and 33" tyres.
Everything else is standard. Will I need to modify anything else if I put in the 2" extended shackles ?
Cheers.

Would like to drop the front spring hanger but how would u guys go about it if u've fitted an ARB bull bar? Doesnt it get in the way if u fit those typical front spring hanger kits?albey wrote:Making extended shackles is a waste of time, especially for the front what you need to do is drop where your shackle mounts through the chassis rail to underneath the chassis rail that should give you about 2" lift using standard shackles, would improve articulation and be 10 times cheaper!!!
Sorry man i know bugger all about farbication work.
Cheers.
Another thing guys, how do u exactly move the axle forward? Is it just as simple as redriling the spring perches hole further? Dont u need to take anything else into consideration?
I'm a cheap poor ass.
My RIG sucks big time.
if you are running the standard j arm steering and still have the torque rod connected, this and the drag link will need to be shortened. You can redrill the perches to gain about 35mm forward.BabyGodzillaGTi-R wrote:Would like to drop the front spring hanger but how would u guys go about it if u've fitted an ARB bull bar? Is this something like what you are looking for
These are made adjustable they can be set at stock hight plus 50mm plus 100mm
The plus 50mm on the shackle gives you about 25mm at the center pin of the spring about 1" lift
The plus 100mm on the shackle gives you about 50mm at the center pin
about 2" lift

Those look good! I take it those are the shackles for the front ?
You wouldn't happen to have a drawing of these would you ?
I need to get some drawings if I want a boilermaker at work to give me hand.
Cheers.
No I dont have any drawings of them
When I made the prototype I measured the original then doubled it
When I was happy with the finished product I sent them out for mass production
I had the pins machined machined to Toyota specs to get the right crush on the bushes they are also drilled and fitted with grease nipples
