Hey guys... bit quiet around here hey !!
Anyway, don't know if you remember me asking about a 3 inch body lift a while back... well it's all done, has been done for a while so now we're moving onto bigger/better mods. I did the rear susp a couple of weeks ago and next up is a tube front bar, custom tray and i'm gonna start getting the parts together for a SAS soon!! Should be pretty unique and hopefully be a bit of a beast offroad which is what my mate wants. Here's the pics -

That rear suspension setup is impressive. Hows the flex now?
Which way are you thinking at the moment for donor diff for the SAS?
Ive heard that Hilux or Bundera are a popular choice because they come with a 4.3:1 ratio to match the rear of most Isuzus. Does this sound right?
Anyway, keep us posted on progress...

You're right with the hilux diff, i think that's the way we'll be going, probably end up running hilux springs f/r too.... The ride is much better now and it has a fair bit more travel, still nothing to write home about though. I'm gonna play with the pack for now [as it's still setup for load carrying] and then chuck in IFS hilux rear springs in spring over configeration when i do the front, also move the hangers so we get a more aggressive shackle angle.

Let me just say that your old Toyota was awesome. i followed the build-up and all the pics. Can u imagine if u got a rodeo flexing like that thing did WOW. SAS mmmmm i have had soooo many dreams, but hey, as long as someone turns it into a reality. u probably already have and Noel might have already told u but cheak out the SAS build up on www.independent4x.com it is a machine!!!
Anyways the rodeo already looks good and i cant wait for the further mods to come, keep us posted.

Otherwise as they are a pretty simple item, you should be able to get some extended shackles manufactured at an engineering firm.

Greazy. I lengthened the shackles three inches, so all up they're at 8 inches. Gave about 1.5 inches of lift and 2.5-3 inches more travel... most of that came from the longer shocks though i'd say.The pack still needs to be played with though as it's very stiff.

i was also woundering those new shock mounts is that legal to do. I have been looking at mine and it seems a pretty stright forward job if u get the welding right. did u have to get it eng.???

Hey greazy,
These are actually mods i'm performing for a friend/customer, so i made the shackles up myself, it's pretty straight forward job. The suspension will need to be engineered but we haven't organised this yet due to the fact that more mods are on the cards, so it'd be silly to spend the money on engineering only to have to redo it a month or two later.

on the topic of rodeo mods does any one know some one who lives in canberra who is planning a sas on a rodeo. coz i saw one outside some ones house as i was walking by and there was a solid axel sinning there a bit rusty but there. i'm not sure what it was from though. there was also an oldish looking V8 sitting there i think it was a 300+ cu but i didn't stop and look to hard.
