well after a messy weekend i went and brought a ARB recovery kit and some new tyres.

looking around i wanted something thats good value for money and abit extreme.

instep the silvestone MT-117 extreme 35" tyres.. well to say they are noisy is an understatement but its all good.

abit of flare cutting and they fit.. monday of next week comes the 2 inch BL .

but from the little drive last nite these are great and at the price i paided i couldnt be happier

What model?

I'm guessing GQ because you mentioned cut the flares. Do you have suspension lift? If so, how many inches of lift?

Cheers

Nice, but you can kiss goodbye to your flares and wheel arches as soon as you go offroad....

Guys on here will tell you for sure, but I got a 3" spring lift and 33's and no rubbing...for 35's u might need more than that

for once something other than "how much do i need to lift my gq to fit ??inch tyres.... but maybe in this instance the question needed to be asked...

thise flares are gona disappear and the knobs on those tyres won't last long at all...... nasty

Yeah, I hate to add to the negative chorus but you have a problem there and it might cost a bit to fix.

i know but i like to do things different. i brought the car to learn how to have fun in the bush and thoroughly fark it .. so why not just go the big tyres and do the rest of my mods around that.

id also like to point out that this car (not including reg and stamp duties) only owes me 6350 ... with the tyres.. the next thing on my list is to do the 2 inch bodylift i couldnt go past the price of the tyres (310 each)

but im more than welcome to listen to ppls feedbak..

Nice mate,

just got a GQ myself for a tow rig, it's only got a 2" spring lift and I'm going to squeeze 35's under it without any other mods.....just keep cutting the guards to clear them for off road.

i have 4" spring lift, and 2" body lift and off road under flex, the tyres scrubbed like a biatch on the flares... mostly on the passenger side cuz thats the way the panhards push the diff under flex. piss off the OE flares and put some Bunnings 6" flares under it and it won't (read, shouldn't) scrub as badly.

a pic of the Bunnings flares
