hi all,
i have just rebuilt my leaky power steering pump on my 81 RR which all went fine now it doesnt leak! hooray
but now i dont seem to have any power steering at idle (650rpm). it takes untill about 2500-3000 rpm to start woking.
is it possible that i have air in the system and it needs bleeding? can you bleed the power steering boxes some how?
any suggestions on anything else i might have missed?
cheers
chris

thanks ill go and try it now!
another suggestion i had was that i may have gotten a small spec of dirt in the presure release valve and that could stop it from seating properly and building up presure.
ill check that out as well.

well it turned out that there was a spec of dirt in the presure valve and it was jamed good!
Took a fair bit of effort to get it out but its all back together in good working order at last!
bled the steering box as well and fluid came out pretty much staight away, so now i shouldn't have to touch any of the power steering for a while.
thanks for the help.
