Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I have been on here before about 2 years ago, and it's been a long time since visits. Bck then I was in a team that took a vehicle to the International Strange Vehicle Games in China. For those that don't remember we ended up using a Jeep Cherokee with 360 and 727 and made our own complete structural frame. Total cost of the project was $2800. The car was built in 5 weeks, and that was weekends only. We had a great time over there but unfortunately didn't get enough drive time of our vehicle and sadly part of the deal was they kept the vehicle over there.
Anyhow I'm back again as I have a new toy as I'm taking a break from the performance car scene for a little while while I start stage 2 of my Datsun rebuild.
Anyhow I now have a new toy/ daily driver in the form of a Mazda 1000 Ute, using sierra diffs and transfer on the Mazda chassis and running a supercharged Nissan CA18DET (no turbo). It's a bit of a bitsa, and aptly named Mazukan. Goes alright for what it is, has bucket loads of torque for a small car, and does what I need at the moment. Unfortunately it only has the 1ltr diffs and I'm a bit scared of breaking them, so maybe looking to go something bigger in the near future. So I'll be scouring the technical section to read what others have done and get some hints and tips and look forward to getting some great ideas from you guys. I've attached a few pics of both cars.
Cheers Peter

Mazukan - My New Toy

I'm rewiring and rearranging the engine bay so I won't take any pics of the engine bay until it's done. It's a disaster at the moment. I'm thinking about relocating the battery to under the tray or in the tray, leaving more room to put the overflow and washer bottle where the battery was, leaving room on the inlet side, so in the future i might think about putting a snorkel on.
I can tell you that it's a tight fit at best. It's auto too, so removes the need for a clutch master etc. It's actually quite nice to drive, starts and runs just like a silvia. I havn't done any serious 4x4ing, but we'll see how it goes. Lux diffs are on the cards, but at this stage it's only a run around, and I'm not prepaared to start tipping bucket lods of cash into it.
