Tyres were to big and didnt fit in the guage
I'm sure if someone checked, they would find that the gauge being used at Broken Hill is a couple of mm under size and the Pro Comp X Terrains are a perfect fit ie:maximum allowable size.
A bit hard to put up a protest with the above being true.

seams strange that there would be a problem with a MAJOR SPONSORS tyre,
they should of worked it out before event .

that is the problem having a actual size rather than a size like max tyre 37" as rim width can change height. in the past people have had problems with CLAWS and CRAWLERS !!!!!!!!.

i just hope after all the other problems a protest doesnt have an effect on the results

OBC rules used to use the tyre size as marked by manufacturer but a certain manufacturer i wont name then had some custom tyres made that were branded to suit this event but in fact were larger. So this is why the measurment came in.

Yea I'd like to know aswell.
I'm sure your old man and Sean are doing fine in the HILUX.

What's the deal if they do really well???? as
I think they are running procomps?

I just don't see what all the fuss is about.
How come they didn't make a fuss when Hobzee and Clint ran the same tyres last year in the outback???

Nic, i was at Seans' workshop when a message came through that they may have blown a diff, not sure which one but apparently were on their way back to Broken Hill to try & fix. Happened at Denian in the sand i think. Not sure on all the details.

Just received a message from Chrissy Hummer and she thinks either Rohan or Cass will be victorious. Also she thinks Laurie and Sean have retired. I will try and contact others and get back to you.

Just heard that Rohan Kanavan has had major issues and has had to pull out of the comp. This puts Cass and Kevy in top place.

Must feel weird for Kevi navigating this years comp as he has driven the last few. But good to see Cass and his navi Kevi inline for the number one spot.

Just got off the phone fron Peter & Jane (vompie69) and the presentation has not started yet. They say Rohan has finished the event but with a badly slipping clutch, Laurie blew a diff in the sand yesterday but repaired it last night & was back in this morning. Pete & Jane dns'd the mud and have at least finished, they enjoyed the event immensley and will return again.

Apparantly Rohan didnt have to pull out afterall...its bloomin hard talking over mobiles with very dodgy reception.

Just heard from Cass Jones navigators wife (long story I know) that she spoke to Kevi about 15mins ago and the presentation hasnt even started. Seems they are running a big bit late.
