if you have dual batteries you can run 24v to the winch

From the way I understand things. if you still have the 24v alt. Mount it as well as the 12v alt. Use the 12v going to a small batt to run everything in the car. And use teh 24v with 2 decent batts to run the winch and some really nice driving lights that you can get for about $200 each. Just as good as HID but they draw approx 20amps each (as opposed to 8 amps all up).
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

why not do and use the bits nissan supply just for this job.(WELL NOT FOR WINCH BUT STARTER)

my rangie is fitted with sd33t and the starter is 24v.so i lifted the starter "box" from the donar patrol car aswell..it is a nissan box that switches the 2 12v batts from parrell configeration to series.thus giving 24v..its operated by starting the car, once you let go of starter button/key it reverts back to 12v..it only supplies current to the starter/winch and alows 12v to rest of car..

ideal for your use!!(as it only operates when you need it and batts can charge as normal when not using)

another option is to use a series parralllel switch they use on trucks ie kenworths
12volt alternator with a 24volt starter only one alternator
no dramas at all easy to install and bobs your uncle 24volts when winching
