As there isn't a workshop manual for the GU 4.5 can anyone recommend what oils i should be using? i.e. engine and gearbox

Engine if it were me I would be using Dello 400 15w-40 and buying it by the 20l drum for around $80 from a caltex disributer.
Gearbox because of the long periods between drains I would use any synthetic with the GL rating that suits.

Both of the above recommendations assume you will be keeping the car for a long while, if you are going to sell it in 5 or 7 just use any oil rated for a petrol engine and normal gearbox oil.

cheers fnq
