Hi,
My GU Patrol (Y61, mf 2000) has the standard alloy wheels 8JJx16 ET 10mm. When I bought it (second hand) the owner gave me a set of original Patrol GU steel wheels 6JJx16 ET 35mm.
What are the risks if I put the steel wheels (in the technical book says you should never use wheels with different offset, in this case 35mm instead of 10mm as my current wheels) ?

wheel offset
I would expect that you'll find that the 8" rims are negative offset (ie the centre is 10mm towards the inside from centre) whereas the 6" are positive offset (35mm towards the outside from centre).
The reality of this should be that the inside edge of the rim should sit in about the same place regardless of which rim you use. Therefore should be fine from a stress point of view.
I think the technical manual is more suggesting that rims of the same width but different offset should not be used as these would put more stress on the studs. ie 8" rims with -ve 25mm offset shouldn't be used.
Confirm with a proper opinion from a tyre place, but if they'e both genuine GU nissan, I can't see it being a problem.
