what would a petrol bundy be like for towing. nothing to heavy like a camper or anything, more a 6 x 4 box trailer filled with camping gear?
Shouldnt be all that bad, providing you pack the trailer carefully and dont overload it + the car itself. Have seen a bundy tow a full canoe trailer (6 canoes plus gear) along with 6x4 cages full of cmaping gear with rovers...
remember it has a little gearbox, maybe learn how to double shuffle from low to high on the fly to save your clutch, and dont expect great fuel economy

it depends on what kind of "performace" you expect - from an engine that struggles to get the vehicle to 110km/h without a load. Trailer loading is critical as dj mentioned - the short whelbase makes the bundera very pitchy and if your trailer is too nose heavy or even slightly tail heavy, evefy little bump will leave you feeling seasick. You'll get about the same fuel economy as a fully laden petrol 60 series, without being able to maintain top gear/decent speed. Will it do it? yes of course, but will you be happy with how it does it? Also 5th gear on the G52F is VERY weak and it's probably best to keep it out of 5th for anything except absolute flat and downhill sections.

the release bearing squeaks constantly as long as your foot is on the pedal? remove the gearbox, replace the release bearing, might as well replace the gearbox while you're in there. or just ignore it till you put your V8 in there.
