honing td42 liners?

Post by Josh n Kat »

Are you able to hone the bore liners on td42 motors using a flexihone? the liners still have hone marks but as expected that area is under the most stress so has worn to nearly nothing. i just dont want to put new rings in on bores that aren't honed......

The liners themselves are less than 1mm thick so you could probably hone them if they arent too worn. Nissan do sell oversize pistons, so you could probably do it.

Josh if you want to get a few picks up I can PM my email for you to send and I will post them.

Woop if you have the time some pics it would be good, I have read about your rebuild although the pics are long gone. If it is OK with Josh to post here.

yeah i'd be more than happy to take photos.

not doing a full rebuild just honing with new rings and bearings. Got my head back today thou, 6 new precombustion chambers and all the rest of stuff they do, new head bolts, vrs kit and head gasket for 700 cash! it helps to be in the industry sometimes :D
