ok trying to change the rear uny joint on the cruiser and i cant get the little plug things out. I removed the little circlip things but the plugs wont come out!!!!

Soak in WD40, come back a bit later and tap around the edges with a ball pein hammer.... just like cone nuts, they should work their way loose.

how do i remove the races if i dont have that special press things (STT). If i have it done by 1pm i can go to Mt Cotton 4wd'n

well that SST appears to be pressing it out

so get a good drift and a hammer i would think.

(6) Support the propeller shaft on a partially opened vice and using a metal drift, tap one of the bearing cups in to drive the other bearing cup out of the yoke.
(7) Again using the drift, tap the trunnion of the bearing just removed to drive the other cup back into, and then out of the yoke.
(8) Maneouvre the yoke and trunnion out of the propeller shaft or sliding joint.

Thanx fellas, all done. tried belting it etc etc, got the sh!ts and cut the middle with the oxy. took about 10 secs with the oxy then just tapped the races out one by one, but the new one in, filled it with grease, painted tail shaft to make it look pretty and wella! all done :lol:

Didnt get to go to mt Cotton i was cut :cry:
