haven't actually pulled it apart myself but my mate has checked my rear drums and found I'm not getting any pressure to the drums yes the from discs are working fine. He's suggesting something to do with the master cylinder possibly.
Any idea cost for a replacement, or if there is an aftermarket option?
Alternatively, what else could it possibly be? There is basically no clamping pressure on the rear drums.

Could be adjustment, do the rear pistons move at all? If so try adjusting them up so the MC does not bottom out. Could be the MC but you'd expect to see fluid leaks. Could be a blockage, siezure of some sort. Need more info as to whether fluid is travelling from the MC to somewhere at all, eg, proprotioning valve, rear flexible hose, rear cylinders and so on? Try undoing some connections, bleed nipple and see if fluid appears when pedle is pumped

Try a Defender pedal box, booster and MC. Fit the rear discs from the 'fender also if you can get a donor Sals. You will need all the axles, flanges, stubs and hubs .Or you could leave the drums on, but the Bias is slightly wrong and will lock rears under really hard braking.

My County with drums on the rear had the same problem. It turned out that both of the slave cylinders on the rear had seized.
You could check whether or not any pressure is coming through by simply putting a hose on the bleed nipple, loosening the nipple and getting someone to push the brake pedal down. If fluid comes through then you have pressure. Make sure you tighten the nipple before the brake pedal is let back up again though to make sure air doesn't enter the system.
If it does turn out to be the Master cylinder...well I've had that problem too, but the symptom was a fading pedal. I had it resleaved with a stainless steel liner for about $80.
