do we set the specs on the tight side on or the looser side of specification's or have you got a better method ? its for a 40series rear diff what have you done ? thanks. matt

Tight backlash can be worse thanloose backlash on the crownwheel and pinion i was told once. I just try to stick between the guide lines.

just set it midrange and check the contact pattern with bearing blue.
