vibration in a surf

Post by j-top paj »

i have a mate with a 91 2lte auto surf that has a vibration problem.
he has already changed all 3 mounts and its still there.
it seems to do it on takeoff mostly. sounds like a tailshaft vibration but he cant work it out. it all started from breaking the gearbox mount and the grease nipple started hitting the rear heater hose, thats how he noticed the problem and has been trying to fix it for a few weeks now.

any ideas people??

Uni joints, or a bent tailshaft, or unbalanced tailshaft. I had a vibration in my surf and it was the tailshaft, had lost a weight, had Repco engineering in bris fix it.

Cheers
Dan.
