Ratio fo water to coolant/anti freeze

Post by Nissanman »

Can anyone let me know what ratio of water to coolant/anti freeze to put in a TD42 with an aftermarket turbo?

I'm pretty sure it mentions it on the containers of most. Usually the concentrates are 1 bottle per 5 litres. Alternatively, you can just buy the premixed gear which you don't have to mix at all.

I'm not sure how hot the engines get in your car but if you'd like to keep it extra cool, buy a performance or higher grade coolant. I can cost up to $40 for a 5 litre bottle but it works a lot better than the $10 stuff.

Supercheap have a pretty large range. The Sierra took about 4.5 litres so you might need two bottles if there's more than 5 litres to your cooling system. It's good to keep spare on hand though in case you get a leak and need to top up.

Edit: Oops. Just realised I clicked on the Nissan board not the Suzuki! Later :)

yep i agree, i just bought new coolant for my GQ, got it from auto one, went for one of the dearer ones, had to mix one part of water for one part of coolant. when i looked at the different brands they all had different ratios.

I agree as well. Follow the directions for use on the packaging.
