Colour Code on BJ42

Post by Wilko76 »

Hi

Can anyone tell me where to locate the colour code on a BJ42 (1980)? I have looked on both plates in engine bay but can't seem to see it. There is a three digit number (542) on one but it has no reference with it.

Someone told me the colour of it is olive brown but i need to confirm it. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks BJ
My code is 532 then according to your post. however the colour displayed looks nothing like it. It would be a cross between the 532 (yellow) and the 304(pollux orange). i have it on good authority it is the original paint.

I think my best option would be to take to a paint supplier and get them to take a sample and anaylise to get an exact match.

I have a feeling it is mustard yellow but 20 years of australian weather has taken its toll!

I will pop in to a paint place and see if they can match it!

Thanks for all your help!

Does sound like mustard, and there were quite a few differences and options offered between the australia and the states which would explain why mustard doesnt appear on the american colour chart. color chart
