MK Body lift

Post by 84mksd33t »

Just did a 2" body lift on my MK

I didnt losen the steering shaft when lifting, but i removed the fan shroud - undid the brake line from the rear diff and i am going to trip the 4x4 selector.

What else should i Look out for? - I also think the body has twisted slightly - my tail gate wont shut properly :( ahh well nothing an angle grinder cant fix!!!!

Also might need to get some shorter bolts as we are very close to running out of thread (used the same bolts that are used on a GQ.

Cheers

Search is your friend.

would loosen the steering box bolts though, might wanna pop the clutch line too, shrouds you did also which is good, brake lines should be fine...

Would of removed original bols and gotten 2 inch extended ones myself though....

For more info on this though, try search - tech threads have loooooooads of info on this sort of stuff.

look at the clutch master cylinder line. this is under the brake master cylinder and will need to be lengthened as it is attached to the body and if you didn't remove the clip it will be stretched and ready to break any minute.......

Feul filler will also be stretched and i bet you will not be able to 4wd low range if you have not modded the low range shifter.

And as said ensure you slip the steering rod or else things get funky off-road under pressure as I found out......

When i did my lift I found that the filler pipe needed extending. Loosened off the stearing rod after being offroad. Apart from that, and extended some wires.

My only issue now is big banging when turning, but i'll find the cause of that another day :)
