Handbrake Light

Post by n_dorphin »

Hey All,

My handbrake light is always stuck on.
I have tested the Switch on the Handbrake and its working ok.
Where does the wire go that leaves the centre console from handbrake, The wire runs towards the drivers side and then i cant find it again.
The light is still on if i disconnect the handbrake switch.

Please Help

Yea the handbrake light - mine was the same, take the cap of the resivoir and push it up or put a little fluid in it if it's not full. That should help as the lamp is not only for the handbrake, its also the braking system.

isnt it a warning light for multiple things? ie if something goes wrong with the engine it lights up?
but yeh anytime i have seen that light come on i just loosen the cap or take it off and replace it. it seems to work so far

According to the handbook,

The Brake warning lamp ( ! ) will come on when

1)Parking brake is on
2)Brake fluid low
3)Malfunction in servosystem (diesel only)
4)if charge lamp comes on as well when running, possible fan belt broken
