Long Travel Shocks

Post by skippy »

Ok folks,

I know the 9012 is WAY long. but does anyone know of an alternative to this shock, and if you do what are the specs?

I'm looking to get a cheaper shock over the 9012 but will need the length of something close to a 9012.

Hi Skippy,

I'm running RS99112's (new X version of the RS9112) - i haven't measured them but i believe that they have 11.4" of travel... so for my zook we had to make new shock mounts for front and rear...

If you are after Rancho's apparently you can get an application magazine/pamphlet that has all the measurements and valving (softness) in them...

The RS99112 is actually designed for multiple applications on the back of a dodge truck i think.

They fit the zook beautifully with the OME rear springs all round and slightly longer shackles.

They were about 180 each - currently same price as the regular 9000's but soon the X's will be 220 each. (prices through auto alliance)

I'll try to get some pics of the car this weekend and get them up soon after.

Note: Better to buy them too long now, then to find that you can get more travel and somehow and suddenly find that the shocks are holding you back again.

Cheers.
