and for the doomsayers that said it would cost at least 12 grand..... has cost me about 7 and a half so far, with only the engineering to come. About $300 i'm told.

Better than if they'd told you it would cost seven grand and it ended up costing twelve ;)

How does it drive? Definitely sounds good!

it drives pretty good.... the motor runs a little better every day. It sat around in a commodore parked in somebodies back yard for a few years before i got my hands on it. I'm running injector cleaner through it at the moment, and i'm taking it for a run to work on monday before i take it down to Cardiff to get it engineered. The only thing i need to sort out is the old TPS which i am using manually inside the cabin. Need to learn the right spots to get it to hold the gears like i want it to. I ran engine flush through the oil also... pulled a lot of crap out of the motor.

This is the colour of the oil after i flushed it for the reccommended 15 minutes. This oil has done about 30 kilometres in the engine, so it wasn't very old.

the graphics is a sticker that was made for me by a friend..... i was goingto use them on the side of the Rodeo if i got it done, with the evil lookin clown on the bonnet, and my MSN name is "Welcome to my Nightmare" So i got stickers to say the same.... had them rolled up around here for ages... and my son harped on about it until i let him put them on to shut him up. It doesn't look too bad..... but the moment they get marked and look crappy from tree branches, they come off.

Used the Marks kit..... define straight forward? The mechanicals aren't too bad...... you need to cut the Patrol engine mounts out and weld the new ones in.... the wiring can be a pain.... But in the end, everything works great!! You have to use a Commodore radiator, or do what i did and used a radiator out of a diesel because the pipes are on the same side as the V8 and booty fab a lower hose out of a commodore and i think a falcon lower hose and joined them with a bit of pipe.

had the 4.2 carby engine originally..... the economy is better than the old motor, especially once i got the overdrive working. Use a bit too much right boot and it chews the juice better than the old one..... but mannnnn it sounds good  Only just passed engineering with the zorst because it was a tad loud. ;)

btw....... NO AND THEN!!

it does sound nice but i genuinely can't believe the engineering folk classify that as a bit loud. if that's loud my little machine will never be road legal back home. what was the decibel count when they tested it? I'd be interested to know.

ps: i want one now!

it got to 100db during one rev when i actually took it up to 3,500rpm i'm allowed 90. It's averaged over 4 tests. But it was windy..... and the engineer said that it could have been a factor in the high reading as well. It's even a little louder now than it is in that video. The muffler takes a few weeks to settle properly.
